Sleeping at Last. Aside from 16 films and a wonderful festival, we caught up with Ryan and asked him a handful of questions… okay, 29 questions.

1. How old were you when you wrote your first song?
13ish
2. What was the song about?
I think it was a love song… must have been about an imaginary girlfriend.
3. What song/artist had the most impact on you prior to becoming a musician?
It’s a tie between Radiohead and Sunny Day Real Estate.
4. What’s the first album you ever purchased?
Cassette: I don’t remember. CD: The Lion King Soundtrack!
5. Who is your favorite person to follow on @Twitter?

6. What is the most memorable show you have ever played?
Pretty much any of the shows from my first tour ever,
7. What instrument do you wish you played (or played better)?
Cello. I play it, just not well.
8. Do you have a favorite designer? If so, who?
Other than Rule29? Olly Moss is pretty great.
9. What’s the funniest comment/review you have received about your music?
“I thought this was a girl singing?”
10. Favorite short film of all time?
Pixar’s “Partly Cloudy”
11. Favorite short film from Sundance 2013?
Palimpsest.
12. Your favorite sit-at-home-and-watch-tv-go-to-meal?
Pizza.
13. Best album cover of all time?
Too tough! Maybe Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon”… and more recently, Sunny Day Real Estate’s “Diary”
14. Best live show you have experienced?
Bjork. Vespertine Tour.
15. Favorite filmmaker?
Tie between Wes Anderson and Christopher Nolan.

“Love Does” by Bob Goff

Too tough, but I’ll try: Arrested Development, Breaking Bad and Mad Men.

Apple.

Nature and films, and sometimes films about nature.

Umbrellas.
28. What have you changed in your creative process after Yearbook?
Not much, but I am working on approaching creativity with more trust these days.
29. What was the inspiration for Atlas?
To push myself creatively with a project that demands more consistency in releasing new music.
